This New Lettuce Track is Too Fresh

A few days ago, Lettuce released their newest track, “Phyllis,” via Soundcloud, their website, and other outlets. “Phyllis” is the debut single off Lettuce’s fourth full-length studio album, Crush, which releases November 6th via Lettuce Records &

On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of seeing Lettuce’s lead trumpeter, Eric Bloom, and guitarist, Adam Smirnoff, perform at the Brooklyn Bowl alongside Leo Nocentelli (Guitar – The Meters), Jason Hann ( The String Cheese Incident, EOTO), Allen Aucoin (Drums – The Disco Biscuits), David Murphy (Bass – formerly of STS9), Todd Stoops (Keys – RAQ), and Elise Testone (Vocals – American Idol). Let me tell you this, Eric can hit some high-ass notes. He’s one of my personal favorite brass musicians on the jam scene, so we’re stoked that he joined Lettuce back in 2011.

Anyways, this debut single has haunted my dreams – I just can’t get enough of it. If this track is indicative of what’s to come with their forthcoming record, then sign me up for a vinyl, digital copy, tshirt, sunglasses, hat pin, or whatever. The album drops just in time for their two performances scheduled at the Best Buy Theatre (now the Playstation Theatre), on Friday, November 13th, and Saturday, November 14th. GA tickets are still available for a good price on AXS, so join us for a to-be funkin awesome night by grabbing your passes here.
