Papadosio Confirms New Album

Just yesterday, Papadosio officially announced plans to release their newest album, Extras In a Movie, on October 2nd, 2015. The Ohio band broke the news through their official website, and went on to say the album will feature 16 never before heard tracks. This will be Papadosio’s fourth studio album, and the first LP since the release of 2012’s, T.E.T.I.O.S (To End the Illusion of Separation).

We’re covering Camp Bisco this year, and are thrilled to catch Papadosio’s Saturday performance. In addition to Bisco, the quintet from Athens, Ohio, is also scheduled to perform this summer at F.A.R.M, Werk Out, Peach, Imagine, and Great North. If you haven’t already, check out the Bisco daily schedule below:

Contrary to popular belief, Bisco is not sold out, and tickets can be purchased at this link. Before catching Papadosio at a show near you this summer, we thought you should know three interesting things about the band:

  1. The members of Papadosio met in 2006 at a weekly open jam night hosted by a bar in Athens called O’Hooleys.
  2. T.E.T.I.O.S includes a booklet showcasing artwork corresponding to each track. The visual mastermind behind the art, Jason Takahashi, attended Skidmore College in upstate New York.
  3. The name “Papadosio,” does not mean anything. In an interview by Real Detroit Weekly, Papadosio’s lead singer, Anthony Thogmartin, was asked what their name means: “We kind of came up with the name so that it wouldn’t have any meaning. If we picked something that meant something it would mean that we had to do that specific thing.”

Needless to say, we’re very excited for their upcoming album. Before you go, check out the official video announcement of Extras in a  Movie.
