On Friday, one of our favorite tandems, The Floozies (above at Red Rocks), is taking over New York City’s Webster Hall alongside New Orleans-native, Russ Liquid, and Colorado-based Electro Funk band, SunSquabi. We’re really excited for this concert for a number of reasons. To start, we used to go to Webster Hall all the time, but after a while, the sweaty one-man DJ events started to wear at our aging souls. This said, Webster still holds a dear place in our hearts, so we’re excited to get nostalgically weird on Friday.
The big reason we’re drawn to this concert in particular is just the level of musicality and instrumentation jam-packed into each of these performances. The Floozies are comprised of brothers Matt Hill (producer, guitar) and Mark Hill (drums). Russ Liquid is a producer that rips the trumpet over catchy electronic music, kind of like the trumpeter-version of GRiZ. Then last but not least, SunSquabi is made up of Chris Anderson on the drums, Andrew Clymer on the bass, and Kevin Donahue on the synths. So get ready to dance, but to dance to real, live instruments. Limited tickets will be available at the door, but you might as well save some money and stress by purchasing yours ahead of time here. This is the “Granola Jones” tour, which is the title of The Floozies fresh new EP. Listen to the whole thing below – see you on Friday!
