7 Reasons We’re Sending It To The Second Annual Same Same But Different Festival

Same Same But Different Festival is just 2 days away, and we’re starting to feel the pre-fest butterflies taking flight in our stomachs! With the bar set high, everybody involved has been working hard all year to make the second SSBD even better than the first. There’s so many reasons we can’t wait to get back out to Lake Perris this weekend, so in Sound-Fix fashion, here’s the top 7!

#1: The location

As if last year’s location wasn’t awesome enough, the festival has relocated a quarter mile up the road in order to accommodate having the main stage on the beach! That’s right, on the beach!! Nothing says second summer in Southern California than watching funky jams with your feet in the sand and a cold beverage in hand! We’re pumped to be catching sets from our floaty this year!

#2: The family

We’re fortunate we get to see a handful of the SSBD Family on a regular basis, but it’s been a long time since we’ve seen some of those beautiful faces! We can’t wait to give y’all a big ole hug and boogie down!

#3: … But different …

We love the diverse line-ups that SSBD have curated, and this one is even more different than the last! We’re looking forward to seeing Moves Collective, Boostive, Elektric Voodoo, AJ Froman and Chugboat as well as SSBD staples MDRN HSTRY and Capyac take the stage along side a group of killer headlining acts including Turkuaz, Beats Antique and Baauer.

#4: That feeling when you awesome new music!

As always at SSBD, we can expect to be turned on to some new music as well! Some of the best sets at music festivals are the ones that knock you off your feet by surprise. Last year for us that was Late Night Radio’s set which was sandwiched between Lettuce and BoomBox which ended up being a highlight of the weekend. Who knows who, but at SSBD, someone is guaranteed to leave you in complete shock when you least expect it!

#5: The weather

We’ve been checking the weather and it looks like we’re in for clear skies and temperatures in the mid to low 80s during the day. Perfect weather to be outside and enjoying the water! SSBD has advised all you festy goers to not forget your floats!

#6: Art

We’re excited to see the array of live artists doing their thing throughout the festival grounds this weekend! We know that our friends at The Social Garden have been working hard to make this year’s event aesthetic, and they’re pros at what they do so we can’t wait to look around!

#7: The great unknown

Being only the second annual SSBD Fest, there’s a lot that’s been developed and we don’t know how which is exciting! We anticipate that this festival is only getting better over time.
