2017 – The Year of the Biscuits: City Bisco Preview (9/20-9/23, Irving Plaza & Coney Island)

The Disco Biscuits

For the second year in the row The Disco Biscuits will bring City Bisco to the streets of New York City, and this year with 4 nights of peerless jamtronica music and world class production. Announced earlier today, the band will perform two shows at the intimate Irving Plaza (~1,200 capacity) and two shows at the beachside Ford Amphitheater in Coney Island.

As a gem of the Northeast dating back to 1995, the Biscuits have a particularly long history playing in NYC with 8 New Years Eve shows in Manhattan and countless others in NYC and the Tristate Area. And after last year’s storied 3-night City Bisco run, the bar is set incredibly high for these upcoming shows. With a nearly 30 minute-long “Grass Is Green” that reached unexplored territories during the second night of Irving, as well as a jammed-out cover of the Beastie Boys “No Sleep Till’ Brooklyn” that opened up the second set last year in Coney Island, the Biscuits are sure to deliver jams from downtown Manhattan all the way to the dirty depths of Brooklyn.

Needless to say, these four shows in our hometown will be the perfect way to end what’s shaping up to be a legendary summer. Lying in the sunshine before catching the very best that we know at Coney Island is sure to be the highlight of the summer, no matter what your musical forecast is between now and September. To add some frosting to the cake – impending openers and after-parties are yet to be announced, but they will be delivered, and we will keep you updated.

2017 has already been a fruitful year for the Biscuits with two stellar 3-night runs at The Capitol Theater and at The Fillmore Philadelphia (check out our reviews here), 2 nights on the pier in Portland, Maine, a hot 4-night Bisco Inferno run in Colorado (review coming this week), and smoking festival appearances at Euphoria and Summer Camp (check out our review here). Now with Camp Bisco (read our ‘Road to Camp Bisco’ interview with Lotus), Lockn’, and City Bisco on the horizon – not to mention the paradisiacal Dominican Holidaze looming at the end of the year, teasing us sorry wooks – 2017 is going to live in infamy as “The Year of the Disco Biscuits.” #yearofthebiscuits
