Halloween and an explosion of memorable music are inseparable partners. With this holiday, you can always expect new music, mixes, and special live performances. From Phish’s perennial sell-out show to RL Grime’s annual Halloween mix, music lover’s are given the opportunity to pig out on as many musical treats as a dedicated kid who hits every house on the block. This Halloween, a particular festive music release stood out from the crowd. Just a few weeks after Zoogma melted my mind with their Stranger Things jam at Rough Trade in Brooklyn, the meteoric Tennessee jam band released the track, titled “Eleven,” in an official capacity.
The song features everything you’d want from a tribute to the hit Netflix show: samples of dialogue from the infamous pack of alien-hunting kids, a keen use of the recognizable theme-song riff, and a catchy fusion of electronic music and organic instrumentation. Zoogma has included the new track in several sets this tour, most recently at their packed Halloween show in Fayetteville, Georgia. The band is right in the middle of its “A Future in Blue Tour,” which was named after the upcoming EP they’re promoting on the road. Check out the remaining tour dates below, and make sure to follow Zoogma on Facebook for updates on new music.
